Brooke Valentine literally bumrushed her way onto the scene with her smash single, "Girl Fight", which features the production and shouts of Lil' Jon, as well as the flows of Outkast member Big Boi. Although she's been doing a string of shows and concerts over the months to promote her debut, "Chain Letter", she seems to have been laying low for the most part. We recently caught up with Brooke as she is planning the release of her new single, "Long As You Come Home".

Well, how are you Brooke?

Brooke Valentine: I'm good, thank you. Thank you so much for album?

Brooke Valentine: It took me about 4 months.

So what's been going on with you since the release of the album. We haven't really heard a lot out of you since then?

Brooke Valentine: Well, I wouldn't say that, considering that everyday I'm performing and on stage somewhere, whether it's overseas or in the states. We're definitely making our rounds. We got a second single coming with Mike Jones, Paul Wall, and Kilo.

So the next single is what ?

Brooke Valentine: As Long A You Come Home.

What was the creative process behind the album? Like, I know the first single was Girl Fight. Did you ever feel like the songs would bring you out too strong ?

Brooke Valentine: I didn't feel like it was too strong. It was just right. Everybody that heard it loved it. They were ready for something different. Everybody does the same thing, and I didn't want to do that. If I did, then what kind of difference would I make?

Now, the album is doing well, but what is it that separates you from the rest of the pack, will take you further down the line?

Brooke Valentine: Me being the person that I am, you know, just not changing. I know people make mistakes, and it's OK. Everybody's always trying to be politically correct. You got to wake up and realize that that's not the way. Once you realize that, it's cool.

Now I know you're touring... Where all have you hit?

Brooke Valentine: I’ve done the Anger Management Tour with Lil Jon & Ludacris, so I've been doing dates here and there. In between, I've been to Japan, Paris, Berlin, and London. A lot of different places. I definitely haven't stopped working. I'm a hard worker.

Any singles from the album after this next one, or have you been working on more material?

Brooke Valentine: I've been doing that anyway. I never stay out of the studio for more than a week. We'll just see how it goes, but who knows?

Are you doing any type of guest features at all with others?

Brooke Valentine: I'm doing some press, you get a lot of "what ever happened to that". It's because people talk about stuff that isn't all the way together. Talk is cheap, but we'll definitely let ya know when something is going on.

Do you spend a lot of time online?

Brooke Valentine: I can't! I can't! I can't do it on my blackberry because it takes too long. I try to go on when I get a chance, and it's not often, but I try to go on the message board, and see what people are saying, and what's going on. A lot of people send me links to help me out.

Is there anything you want to say to the fans, any final comments?

Brooke Valentine: Just, I'm out here, working, trying to make my rounds and reach everybody. You'll see me soon. The album is in stores, so go get it. I'm just a real person doing my thing, working hard to get where I need to be in life, so everybody take it easy.
