From sunny Fort
Walton Beach, Fla., home of the world’s
largest Air Force Base and America’s second largest out-
door nightclub, comes Manifest Music’s first official
release – “Street Politics II” (a.k.a –
SP2) by Florida-
born, Atlanta-raised street lyricist Ceez.
Ceez took time out of his busy
schedule to let The New Power know what the future of the South
has in store for the world.
First of all, where are you originally
from ?
I was born in Jacksonville, Florid.,
raised in Atlanta, GA., and
Fernindina Beach and Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
You’ve been making a buzz
on the underground on the Gulf
Coast. How did all that come about?
I decided we were going to do
music so we did music a big way. We put out mixtapes and we’re
finally getting the buzz that we should’ve gotten a long
time ago. People are now just starting to lis -ten. So, just good,
good moves.
What’s the name of your
mixtape ?
“SP2 The Mixtape”
and “Street Politics (II)” the album will be coming
soon.
Who’s going to be on “Street
Politics II ?”
I got Magno on there. I got Tum
Tum on there. I got BloodRaw on there. I got production by X-Dub
and Double O and I probably got some new features that I don’t
even
want to talk about yet.
Let me know what’s going
to separate you from the pack -
from the rest of these rappers in the South.
It’s a lot of nonsense
in the South, you know what I’m
sayin’? I separate myself from the nonsense by keeping it
real on my music, in life and everything else that comes along
with it. Plus, the music is just real music. It’s
not no bullshit. It’s not a whole bunch of radio hits or
something for the label. It’s something I want to hear and
real niggas want to hear all around the world.
When is the album expected to
come out ?
Late August, early September.
What’s been the hardest
part about you putting out a CD?
Basically, the hardest part about
it is having the product to my standards that I want people to
hear – that’s a
representation of me. Because people say it’s good and what
not, but it’s about me. Whether I think it’s good
or not. So, that’s the hardest part. Just deciding what
I want to use and how I want to use it.
What do you expect the reaction
to be when the CD comes out and how many units do you expect to
sell?
Hopefully, it will be a great
reaction and I can sell about 8-10,000 units. Maybe 20,000, you
know? Who knows? I know I ain’t gonna sell super big numbers
because I’m a super small dude right now, but pretty soon
ya’ll will hear and it’ll be all kosher.
