When did u guys decide u wanted to be in the entertainment business ?

B.G. : We all kinfolk, we was all young and strugglin’ out here - we had to get on the grind and get it. We was young, gettin’ money, and smokin’. So we called the clique Eyez Blown - cause that’s what we did. How many albums have u done so far ?

Is this your first one ?

Mike G. : This is the second album. We had one drop about a year or two ago - called The Franchise. It was just around the city [Meridian], though. We didn’t really try to push it nowhere.

How are the folks down in Meridian diggin yall ?

Sho : At first, they didn’t really believe that we could do it until they heard it. Since they’ve heard us, they like..... keep on doin’ it. U know ? What’s your new album called ?

EB: Through The Door.

How many years have yall been recording ?

Mike G. : I just been rappin’ for one year. How long has the group been recording ? About 2 or 3 years. We’ve been together our whole life. We’re first cousins - two sets of brothers.

Phil, what’s your role with the group ? I’m the manager. My brother on e of the members in the group.

Did u put the group together or did they come to u ? Naw, they were already together.

What are some of the things that you’ve done as manager to help them get their name out there ?

I been sending out a lot of material to the djs outside of the state. Has the group done any shows recently ? Nah, they were supposed to open for Maceo but the show didn’t happen.

How would u descibe your sound to those who’ve never heard your material ?

B.G.: It’s a sound that everybody’s diggin’. Know what I’m sayin ?

What are yall hoping to accomplish with this new cd ? Are u after a major label deal or just tryin’ to make some money and keep it independent ?

Sho : We’d love to make that money in the streets, but if it goes that far (to a major deal), then it goes that far. We tryin to get up out the hood. But we still gone keep it hood.

B.G. : I’d like to keep it independent before gettin’ a major deal.

Yall say u got the streets of Meridian on lock. If I go to Meridian and mention the name Eyez Blown, are they gonna look at me like I’m a fool ? Yall ain’t lyin’ to me are ya ?

EB : Nah, man !

Do u produce your own tracks, or do u have outside producers ?

Mike G. : Outside producers.

Everybody’s talkin’ bout being crunk nowadays..... Is that your thing, too ? We do gangsta, crunk, something for the ladies.... All that. We local rappers right now - but we can do it just as well as the people on the big screen.

Have u gotten any love from your surrounding radio stations ?

B.G. : We got a couple of djs out there showing much love. Big shout out to Low Star, J.T. ..... They showing love. What are ages by the way ?

Sho : I’m 18

Mike G. : 19

B.G. : I’m 20.

O.K., well, I wish u guys the best of luck with your new project. I hope u get everything you’re looking for. If u deserve it, you’ll get it.
