What up Blac ?

Nothin’ maine. U know, just in the studio tryin’ 2 work.

What cha got cookin’ ? And who ya workin with on this one ?

Awh man, I’m workin’ with DJ Squeeky. He produced various tracks. I got Insane Wayne. I got Mad Ghetto Music, my own in house productions (outta South Memphis). We got the World Famous Hurricane. I got Rizar Rod. Some u might know, some u might not. It’s all part of the movement. We all tryin’ 2 grow together.

So everybody on this one is from the Memphis area ?

Everybody’s from the Memphis area.

What’s the drop date ? We probably lookin’ at the first of the year (2004). The music industry right now is so upsie daisy. U know what I mean ? U don’t wanna put anything out right now cause u gonna get smothered by the majors.

I heard u were doin’ some radio work up at 107 in Memphis.

Yeah, I was the only Memphis rapper in history 2 be a radio personality. I worked at 107 for bout a year and a half. Then I left 107, and went 2 Clear Channel and worked for K97 for bout half a year. So I had 2 local shows that were well liked and well loved, and still need 2 be back on the air.

How did these gigs come about ? Did u approach them or did they approach u ?

They approached me. U know, real recognize real. U know, I ain’t never had a gold or platinum album. It’s just the love and respect that I get from the streets, and in the music business. I’m like the get -a-long gang, u know ? The ones that people hated on, disrespected, and treated bad.....them the ones I’m gone be in the corner hollerin’ at, eat, and shakin’ hands with all night if I have 2. Cause everything is beneficial. U know what I’m sayin ?

What’s happening in the Memphis area right now ? Who’s hot ?

Me and Fly, we done got back together. We tryin 2 do an album. Yo Gotti, be on the lookout for that kat maine. That kat’s bad maine. Mr. Ed’s comin’ back. Be on the lookout for big Squeeky, and Criminal Maine. Be on the lookout for all slept on artists maine. We fixin’ 2 touch down again. U know, the world is on an axis that spends around. Awight, U remember when New York had they run, wasn’t nothin’ goin’ on but New York. Then it shifted from New York. It came 2 California. U know, it was Westcoast, Westcoast, Westcoast. It shot down South, but when it go down South, u gotta split this shit up. Cause u got Atlanta, and u got Memphis. Them 2 different places, but everybody wanna put ‘em together and say there are similarities in some kinda way. But u can’t do that, cause Memphis is spelled with an M, and Atlanta is spelled with an A. U feel me ? There’s a lot of he sounds like him, and they sound like them. But.... Memphis next maine. Memphis next. We got 2 much talent and 2 much space 2 take up for u not 2 see it. Only thing we gotta get is that camera. And we gotta get that togetherness. We been hungry. What u expect when u get a whole lotta dogs that ain’t been eatin’, and u put ‘em in one field, and u ain’t got but one bowl in the middle of the field. Everybody gone go crazy for that food. U know what I’m sayin’ ? So ain’t nobody got no understanding. Right now, it’s me over u. And if I don’t get it, u ain’t gone get it cause I need it more than u. Really, everybody needs 2 start makin’ somethin’. Once everybody starts makin’ a little money, it’s gone be kinda simple. And it’s gonna be a lot easier 2 get Gangsta Blac and a lot of other people 2 get together and do big boy projects. Until everybody get’s a taste of the business, it’s gonna always seem unorganized. Believe me, we got business. We’re very business minded. We just been so caught up in ourselves for so long, and ain’t really accomplished shit. We gone stay down. We stay makin’ good music.

What’s Memphis gotta do in order 2 wake the rest of the country up ?

Come together. Cause I can’t represent the city of Memphis unless people get behind me and support me. We got old screws here that need 2 be taken out and replaced with new screws. Ya feel me ?

Why is Atlanta gettin’ so much attention right now ? Everyone’s sayin’ Atlanta’s Crunk music is nothin’ but Memphis’ Get Buck music. If that’s true, Memphis was doin’ it years ago, but Atlanta’s gettin’ credit.

Cause when the spotlight hit Atlanta, not just one did it, everybody did it. Just like back in the day when everybody said Bone ( Bone Thugs -N- Harmony) took Memphis’ style. If they did take it, they took it at the right got damn time. We may have been doin’ it for a long time, but right here ain’t gone get cha nothin’. U gotta get out here and let them folks here it. If I get it from u, I ain’t gone be 2 quick 2 tell these folks I got it from u, either. I made this shit up. U know what I’m sayin’ ? Maine..... Memphis is Memphis. As much as I hate it, I love it. I’m tryin’ 2 deprogram and reprogram this industry right here in Memphis.

Why aren’t u apart of Three 6 Mafia anymore ?

Really maine, that was so long ago. I was part of the Memphis movement. Let’s put it like that. I ain’t gone say I was with them. Please make sure u write this. I wouldn’t want u 2 quote me as ever being a part of Three 6 Mafia.

So, your not dealin’ with them anymore - was it business, personal, or a little of both ?

Business ! It was all business. It came down 2 money. Money is the root of all evil maine.
