What’s
crackin’ ?

Well, u know,
I got this  independent
project that  I’m gettin’
ready to drop. Even
though I’m signed
to Universal, I pretty
much had them give me
a little lee way to gone
jump out here and do
what I had to do. Cause
u know how these labels
are. They sit on ya.
Instead of capitalizing on
the buzz that you’ve cre-
ated out here, they’ll sit
on ya. U know ? So I’m
droppin’ this independ
ent project. It’s called
“The Bootleg -
Unauthorized.” So even
though they gave me permis-
sion, I’m still calling it that.
I’m using it as a tool to help
push the September release
on Universal. The album
comin’ out under Universal is
called “The Dirty Old Man.”
Who are some of the
people u worked with on
the Universal release ?
Petey Pablo (we got 2 songs
together) and Three 6 Mafia.
I’m waiting on Scarface to
give me his verse. On the
independent release, I’m
stayin’ clear of using any fea
tures. Because the distributor
that I’m using, is being sued
by Universal. So to stay free
from having any problems
with clearances, I decided
not  to use anyone.
Who are
some of the producers
that u worked with ?
Awh
Man !! Bread & Water (outta
Atlanta) blessed me with 2
tracks. My man D Smoove
(from Nashville, Tennessee).
He use to be Young Buck’s
producer. He did 3 on my
very first project. He did 2 on
this one. I got a cat named
Top Dog. He use to be my in-
house producer. He did 4 or
5 tracks. I had a cat outta
Milwaukee. And I can’t forget
my boys, The Drum Majors.
They do a lot of work with
Slip N Slide. As far as pro
ducers, I don’t really mess
with a lot of big named pro -
ducers. Like Jazze Pha and
Mannie Fresh. Because I had
to crawl to get in, so I believe
in helping others get in. U
gonna always have the elite,
so u gotta reach back and
help the other people.
I
heard that you’re out
there in Vegas hangin’
with Antonio Tarver.
What’s your connection ?
Tarver and I grew up
together in Miami. Ludacris,
Irv Gotti, and a lot of other
people have talked to him
bout bringing him into
the ring. But he’s keepin’ it
real with his roots. U know
what I’m sayin’ ? He see’s
me tryin to do my thang, and
he appreciates my music.
What else have u got
going on, besides music ?
Well, I’m in the Choices 2
(movie) with Three 6 Mafia. I
did a movie with Isaac Hayes
called Dodge City. I be tryin’
to mess around with that real
estate a little bit. U know
what I’m sayin’ ? Really man,
I eat, sleep, and breathe
music. Simply because I
haven’t been given a push
from the label like I should
have. I think we, in the South,
we spoil these labels. We
showed them that we could
sell units on our own. So for
that reason, they sign us up,
and wait on us to blow our
own shit up. And that’s an
injustice. Cause I’m gone tell
u like this, Ant. Me and u
both know that 80% of con -
sumers buying urban music,
are middle - class white kids.
If I done sold 30,000 units, I
know how to go to
Indianapolis, Cincinatti, or
Florida and find the hood.
The only thing I have a prob-
lem with is trying to reach
that 80%. How  do I tap
into that market ? Appeal to
the masses, right ? That's
the only damn reason I
signed a deal, dog. I didn’t
sign a deal for no other rea-
son, but that. And it’s like.....
these folks need to get up off
they ass and do what they
need to do with me. That’s a
machine. And a machine is
suppose to work.
Are u
releasing the independent
project on your own label ?
Yeah, my own label. What’s
it called ?
Parramo Enter -
tainment.
Hey, we wish u
the best on both projects.
Don’t yall tear Vegas up
too bad, after the fight.
Awh right. Thanks, dog !!
