There are very few groups that can come out the box and make an instant impact
in the music industry. New Orleans is the home to one of those groups doing just that.
We journey to the Big Easy to find out more about these newcomers, HomeGrown.

DG : So what’s the business, HomeGrown ?

HG : U know, we chillin’ as usual.

DG : Now tell our readers just who HomeGrown is.

Dogg : The group consists of G. Shelton, Foe Da Rolla, & Dogg a.k.a. Mr. Yes Sir. We’re from Mansfield, Louisiana. Straight country and off the chain. HomeGrown is a mixture of lifestyles we carry. We mix rap, r&b, country, and everything in between. It’s a new blend of Southern music.

DG : How long have u all been together ?

Foe : We’ve probably been together for 18 months. We an up an coming multi - talented group.

G Shelton : It was God sent that we hooked up, because everything is going too good for us now.

Foe : We have been doing our thing on the personal tip, for a while. G. Shelton and I was doing gospel back in the day. Dogg and I was doing it with other groups. So we decided to get together and put this new gumbo funk out for the world to hear. Ya dig ?

DG : Now, with all the artists in New Orleans, how does HomeGrown fit in ?
Foe : We fit in like no other, because we in our own class. We don’t just bring one style of music. U can listen to our music and feel the soul of each song. We’re not tryin’ to be Cash Money or No Limit. We just doin’ HomeGrown.

Dogg : However u want it, we can deliver it. From the streets, to the club, to the cars ..... We got something for you.

DG : When can we expect a new album
from u ?

Foe : Well, the new album is called “Country 4 Life,” and it’s in stores now. We got 21 bangers. From front to back, it’s a well - rounded album.

DG : Who are u workin’ with on the album ?

Foe : We didn’t bring a lot of features because we want the world to hear HomeGrown. The group has so much talent and style, we didn’t need a lot of features. Our label mates, Zion and Ruthless, are on the album. Lady Lace is on it. That’s it. We got the rest.

DG : Your sound is very different. What gives u your unique sound ?

Foe : We bring our own style to the table. U can look at the album cover and see what we got.

Dogg brings that crunk country sound. G. Shelton is that smooth laid back playa. I bring the street aspect to the group. That’s what makes our sound unique. Three minds are better than one.

Dub G : A lot of cats come out and hit, but don’t go anywhere. Any plans to hit the
road ?

Dogg : We know what we have to do, and we get out there. We got our city ad surrounding areas jumping. Next stop is the world.

G. Shelton : We got people in Oakland, Florida, and Texas putting in work with us. So when we hit these areas to promote, it’s going down with no flaws.

DG : So what else do u have coming up ?

Foe : We’re gonna hit everybody with a different side of HomeGrown, soon. We’re workin’ on an r&b album. We gone be the first group to drop a hip -hop album, then come back with an r&b joint. We’re uping the talent scale in the game. We’re working on the video for the first single, “Parking Lot Pimpin.” So things going good.

DG : Anything else u wanna tell your fans ?

Foe : We want to thank everyone who already copped the album. If u don’t have, go buy it. Don’t burn it. Hit us up on the web, at
www.RECRECORDS.net for all the latest information on us and the rest of the REC Records family. Much love to REC Records and Big House Music for helping us get out here.

G. Shelton : First off, I’d like to thank the man above for the blessings. To all my friends and family...... Thanks for the support. To the fans....
Thanks for the love and support.

Dogg : U know God is always first. Anybody who doin’ music.... Keep ya head up and do ya thang. We love the fans that keep it real with us.
We’ll do the same.
