New York Giants ?

I really debated whether or not to address all the smack that a small number of New York cats are saying about southern artists right now. To be honest with u, I’d address it if it was the other way around. I’d address it if someone was talkin’ about the west coast or the northern artists. U noticed I said northern artists. I hate the word midwest. Chicago, Cleveland, Indianapolis, etc..... I love yall, but u are not in the midwest. At one point, this country only extended to the Mississippi River. So during the early 1800’s u would have been in the midwest. Now the midwest is somewhere around Kansas and Nebraska. Anyway, I got off track for a minute. It seems that a lot of attention has been given to D4L, Dem Franchize Boyz, and this sound coming out of Atlanta called “Snap.” First, I’d like to say that “Snap” is not the sound of the South. It is one of the sounds coming out of the South. The South is more diverse because it covers more area.

Now let me say this to those who don’t like D4L, Dem Franchize Boyz, and any artist doing what they do - Here’s the secret to their success. I’m gonna hip u all on how to produce, and arrange a hit song. Are u ready ? Are u ready ? Here it is....... Less = MORE! Did u get that? Less = MORE ! Those who know the formula know that I’m tellin’ the truth. U see, the ear can’t take chaos and confusion. The more u junk a song up tryin’ to show how talented u are as a musician, usually (not always) the worse the song becomes. Snap is not complex. It’s easy to listen to (no matter how elementary u think it is). U can hear everything going on in the songs. James Brown used drums, a bass, a guitar, and two or 3 horns, and made some of the funkiest music on earth. Here u have some young cats doing something legal - something they enjoy- and making more money than they’ve ever had, and then have to contend with a bunch of jealous haters who can’t get their shit poppin’ so they’re bitchin’ about how the South is dumbin’ down hip-hop. If nobody wants to buy your shit, don’t get mad at another region or state. Don’t get on tv and in magazines tellin people to stop buying that shit - cause now it’s obvious that you’re begging people buy your music instead. Get off ya ass and grind like these artist do down South. No one here was bitchin’ when some of the New York artists, labels, and radio stations were cock-blockin’ everyone else for all those years. Contrary to what some of u think, New York does not own the patent on rap music. That’s dumb. That’s like saying that Detroit popularized the mass production of automobiles, so Japan and Germany has no business tryin’ to make cars. California got off it’s ass and made it happen. The South got off it’s ass and made it happen. The problem I have with some of these New York artists is that they sit around and wait on a damn major deal instead of getting what they want on their on. Jim Jones and Dipset ain’t bitchin’. Those cats get what they want. 50 cent recently jumped on the bandwagon with some negative things to say about the South after he stole Master P’s No Limit formula in creating G-Unit. And after he tried to adopt the southern sound and style.

Haters, think about your careers before u say something stupid. The South consists of about 12 states. That’s a lot of states with major U.S. cities (Memphis, Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Little Rock, Birmingham, Charlotte, Nashville,Tampa, Orlando, Baton Rouge, Montgomery, Jackson, etc..) that u won’t be able to go to because u said some stupid shit about the South. That’s a shit - load of money you’ll be missing out on. New York is only one city. Yeah, it’s the largest in the country, but it’s still only one city. So if u think u can make a living in New York alone....... Do ya thang pimpin’.

If u notice, the South ain’t hatin’ on anyone. It just does it’s thing. Even after yall booed Outkast after they won their first Source Award in the mid-90’s, no one from the South was publicly hatin’ on u. I think the reason the South and California have connected so well is because they both have always been considered outsiders to some of the New York heads. I don’t want yall to think I’m talkin’ to all New Yorkers, cause I’m not. Just those livin’ in New York City and it’s 5 burroughs with a disdain for southern rap.

The reason southern rap has been so successful is because the majority of it is so melodic. And most people love melody. I think it comes from so many artists growin’ up in southern churches. There is a certain flavor in churches down South. Can’t u hear it in Nate Dogg’s voice? He happens to be a product of Mississippi roots.

So, New York City, if u want hip-hop back...... Here, u can have it. The South is gonna make music. If someone likes it, then they like it. If they don’t, then they don’t. That’s their decision - not yours ! You’ll never be able to stop people from liking what they like. Stop acting like u own hip-hop. Stop calling yourselves Gods - for there is only one. U are no bigger or better than anyone else in the game.

The last time I checked, the only giants in New York were football players, and they’re not even in New York...... They’re in New Jersey. A.C. Respect The Paper ! We Will Be Heard.
