I’d like to start off in this issue by saying.....Since our last issue, we attended the SEA Awards [in Nashville] and The GTP Fam’s Bay Area Conference [in St. Petersburg, Florida], and we’d like to thank Janiro Hawkins, DJ Infamous, and staff for having us at the SEA’s and Big Cee Jay, Dj Splack, J-Holla, and the rest of the GTP Fam for having us at their conference. We enjoyed ourselves at both. The SEA Awards is going to be held in Mississippi [ Jan. 19-22, Grand Casino in Tunica] next year. So we’re gonna have “The Sip” reppin’ all up in there. We look forward to The GTP Fam’s next event. Theirs is twice a year. The next conference is August 6th. Check their websites for more info : gtpfam.com / southernentawards.com

I’d like to ask you major labels a question. Why do u think that Atlanta, Georgia is the land of milk and honey? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love Atlanta as much as anyone. It’s a nice city with a lot of talent. But, just because Atlanta has had some artist who’ve had some success in this business, that doesn’t mean yall should camp out in Atlanta.

The point that I’m tryin’ to make is...... Yeah, there are a lot of talented people in Atlanta. But there are talented people in Houston, Memphis, Miami, Chicago,Cleveland, Tampa, Idaho, Nashville, Montana, Mississippi, Nebraska, and thousands of other places in this country. Usher has a hit...... U go lookin’ for talent in Atlanta, Lil Jon has a hit..... U go lookin’ in Atlanta. Ludacris has one and so on. It’s not Atlanta !! It’s the artist. It’s the producer(s). Give a talented artist or producer from Little Rock, Dallas, or Phoenix the same opportunities and you’ll get the same results.

If u give 100 TALENTED people from the same area the opportunity to be seen and heard, hell yeah that area’s gonna be hot. U make Atlanta hotter by focusing so much attention on it. It’s like..... radio stations playing an unknown song so many times, that it becomes a hit. You’ve made us focus on it. Come to Mississippi and start signing all of the talent here, and everyone will be talking about Mississippi. Do it in Memphis, where they started a sound [Buck Music], Lil Jon took it, and now the world thinks he created something new [crunk]. The same can be said about Bone Thugs N Harmony gettin’ on using Memphis’ style. That’s the talent in Memphis. They made it work, but Memphis has been makin’ it work for years. Why haven’t yall been pickin’ up those artists and producers in Memphis ? 8 Ball & MJG left just to get that attention.

Majors, u expect us to believe that there’s more talent in the city of Atlanta, than in the city of Chicago ? There may be. But I’d find it hard to believe, since Chicago is about 4 to 5 times the size of Atlanta. Or that there’s more talent in the city of Atlanta, than in the entire state of Georgia ? Because no one really talks about the talent in other parts of that state. Only Atlanta. I’m not picking on Atlanta, because it’s not their fault. They’re only taking advantage of the opportunities. And they’d be crazy not to. The music industry is behind this.

Bad Boy South ? Come on Puffy!! It’s more like Bad Boy Atlanta. B5 - Atlanta, Boyz In Da Hood -Atlanta and surrounding area, 8 Ball and MJG - Memphis (living in Atlanta). How can a company say it represents the South, when all of it’s artist are from or living in the same city ?

This industry has always made artist living in places other than New York and Los Angeles, feel like they had to leave their city and come to them in order to be successful. That’s ridiculous !! God does not give talent out based on location. The Internet ! Your Own Website ! The Internet ! Your Own Website ! I thought I’d throw that in there for all of u artist, producers, and labels who haven’t come to your senses, yet. With your own website, it makes no difference who u are or where you’re from. You can distribute your music like any record company.... Worldwide !!

Little man.......They’re afraid of u now. SERIOUSLY, THEY ARE !!

They know that they can not stop technology !!

So don’t be ashamed of where you’re from, anymore. Don’t be afraid anymore !!

Damn It, Rep Yo City..........Worldwide !! A.C.
