The man who said, "two heads are better than one" wasn't lying. When you put four together it can only mean success. In this case, we have T.M.C. (The Mississippi Connection). I sat down with each member to see what the connection was all about.

DG - What's cracking TMC?

Iceburg - What's happing with you homes?!

Smack - Just holding it down.

DG - Tell us about the members of The Mississippi Connection

Mond - Basically it's four heads from different labels that came together to get this money. We all from Moss Point, Mississippi, ya dig ? You have Part-Time Records, Mean Mug Records, Grind Muzik International, Million Dollar Mouth Records, and a lot of affiliates. I bring the energy to the group. I make sure the vibe is good. We're multiple hustlers doing our thing in the Sipp. We sell clothes, hustle cds, dvds, lay concrete and anything to get cake. We getting it.

Jinx - I represent Mean Mug Records, ya know ? I've been rapping since 13. I've done 3 projects
under the Coast Boyz moniker. 2 compilations and a solo project with Young Iceburg. I've done a few underground mixtapes. I'm one of the more mellow cats, but I keep it gangsta. I dabble in production, ya know ? That's me in a nutshell.

Smack - I own Part Time Records. I started out with Million Dollar Mouth Records with my man Greedy Grinch and I'm still apart of that. I'm the youngest in the camp. I'm a street / corporate cat. I'ma get it trapping or rapping or school or whatever it takes. I'm in school right now
for business, ya dig ? I'm well rounded and ready!

Iceburg - Grind Muzik International is my label. I'm one half of the Coast Boyz. We are one of the major groups down here on the coast. We've been doing it since 1998. The group was originally five members but due to incarserations and life situations it boiled down to three members, Jinx, Skillz and myself. Now it's just Jinx and I.

DG - You have been in the game for a minute. Tell us from your eyes how the game has changed.

Iceburg - I believe the mixtape game has caught on strong in the south. People dropping mixtape like albums and making bread. It's easy to do and at the same time it don't take much to push. You're competing against a lot of people so ya have to step ya game up.

DG - Now for the question everyone wants to know. Can the Gulf Coast music scene survive
after the hurricane?

Jinx - The music scene is budding. Just out here in Moss Point you have Gator Pit Records, Unknown Records, Make-A-Dollar Records, and T.M.C. Then you have the rest of the coast stepping up so we getting back to business as usual.

Mond - On the physical aspect we lost everything. On the mental standpoint we straight.
Everybody's looking at us for some reason or another so we have to get ours in while the
eyes are here.

Iceburg - We all are feeling the aftermath of Katrina fa real! It's slow motion down here but there are a lot of projects on deck around here. Cats from all over the coast are gearing up for the new the year. Smack - You can't stop the wrath of God! It hurt us, but we will bounce back. We looking for bigger and better things to come with the rebuilding phase. T.M.C. is still here so it can only get better from here on out. If nobody else gets it together, T.M.C. will be the scene
ya know!

DG - What are some of the projects you have out now?

Mond - We have "The Official Mixtape Volume 1 & 2" in the streets now. We're working on the "I-10 Haulers Compilation" as we speak. We also working on the "Katrina: The Aftermath" dvd coming real soon. We're coming strong for 2006.

Iceburg - I got my mixtape "Back To Tha Streetz Volume 1" coming soon, and another Coast Boyz album on deck.

Smack - I have my solo album "One Way Or Anotha" coming soon so be looking for that. It's going to be an 18 track banger. It's going to be a different sound from the Mississippi norm. My promo is about to drop with a dvd so its going down.
