  Diamond, how’s it going ?

Alright !

Tell us what’s been happening with Crime Mob lately.

We’re doin’ real good. We’re actually on our way to California right now, to do a show.

Crime Mob is fairly new to the scene. Give us some history on the group.

O.K. Killa C’s gone answer that.

Well.... Basically, we were all in middle school together. We all stayed in the same area. Back in 2000, everybody was solo artists. Everybody was tryin’ to rap. That was the big thang back then. One day, Diamond and Lil’ Jay’s sister, Princess, came in and said.... “Yall need to let us rap. We be around yall so much, we need to gone do this. Let’s make this thang happen.” Then, “Knuck If You Buck,” blasted off from there.

What is your affiliation with Lil’ Jon’s and Emperor Searcy’s BME Recordings ?

Diamond: BME’s our consultant.

O.K.... So you’re signed to Warner Brothers ?

Right !

I understand “Knuck If You Buck” is the track that got u your deal with Warner Brothers.

Yeah ! “Knuck If You Buck is the reason we’re here now. We had been doing mix cds and passing them out. People started burnin’ it, and it started getting to Florida, Alabama.....It started gettin’ everywhere. Before we knew it, the radio station was coming to us. Normally, people go to the radio stations to get their stuff played, but they were coming to us. We were the first group to get their song in heavy rotation on 107.9 in Atlanta [ from Dig It or Diss It ].

Is it true, that before Crime Mob got a deal, yall were into stealing cars ?

Yeah! We took the name Crime Mob from something negative, and tried to make something positive out of it.

Who did u work with on this album ?

We wanted people to hear Crime Mob on our first album. Lil’ Jay did most of the production. We also got beats from DJ Jelly, Jock M.Y.G., and Da Bingo. We start workin’ on our new album next week. We’re gonna have some west coast and up North features on there. A little something for everyone. At first, it was for us [with the first one]. U know, to let everyone know who we were. Now, with this new one, we gotta do something for the fans.

Will u work with Lil’ Jon on the next cd ?

Yeah, that’s in the works.
