Georgia, man. Columbus, Georgia.
O.K. Give us a little background on the
your group.
Basically, we got 4 members in the group.
We got me, Big Bo, Mr. Malt, Christyles, and Cutta. We been together
like.... 3 years. Christyles and Mr. Malt, they were already The
Scoundrels. They needed two more members cause it just wasn’t
clickin’ right. The CEO
met me and Cutta over at another studio.We was doin’ some
things for him over there. We was writing. He was like....We need
two more dudes to be in the group and
asked if we wanted to join. We said yeah. We met up with Chris
and Malt. They liked us, and that’s how u got the Scoundrels.
What’s the new album called ?
4 Ever Gullie.
Who helped u put this project together
?
We got 8 Ball and MJG, Pastor Troy, Bun
B., Jazze Pha, Too Short, Bone Crusher. We got all of them on
the album. We got a hit single out right now.... “The Ghetto”.
It’s bumpin’ real good. We got another single comin’
out real soon. It’s the remix to “The Ghetto.”
It should be fire, too.
You’ve got some big southern names
on there.
We’ve been blessed to be in the
situation that we in. What can we say, man ?
Who handled your production ?
Awh, Avery Johnson, the one who did that
“Neva Scared,” L Rock, Craig Love, Taj Mahal. We also
had some of our in-house producers - Live Dogg and Looney P.
What’s happening, musically, in
Columbus, Georgia ?
We tryin’ to get it goin’,
man. Cause the music scene, its been slow down here. U know, there’s
always a lot of hatin’. People not clique’n up to
make things happen. We tryin’ to take it to another level.
We represent down here.
When u hear talk of Georgia and it’s rap scene, we usually
only hear about Atlanta. Is there any animosity among the artist
in your area because Atlanta gets all of theattention ?
It’s just a lot of love from us.
When we go to Atlanta,people up there show us a lot of love. Actually,
we get more love up there than we get here in Columbus. A lot
of people up there
are respecting us. They come down here wanting to do shows. Matter
of fact, T.I. comes down here to do shows all the time. That’s
because of the music scene here. Troy, too. We got a lot more
people coming. I can credit us for that, cause we opened the door
for that. It’s really good right now.
Where are some of the places you’re
gettin’ spins right now ?
Florida, u know what I’m sayin ?
They startin’ to spin us down in Florida. Down by Miami.
Montgomery, Albany [GA], Macon [GA], and Atlanta. They dig it
up in Atlanta, pretty good. It’s just spreadin’. It’s
like a wild fire, now.
So they’re bumpin’ it in the
clubs, too ?
Yeah, in the clubs....Most definitely.
