True’ Pa, what’s poppin’ playa ?

Everythang ! what’s poppin’ with u ?

First off, I gotta ask u where ya from ?

Man, I’m originally from Chicago. I’ve been down here in Mississippi since ‘80 or ‘81. I’ve been back and forth. I just recently relocated back there after I got outta the penitentiary. Know what I’m sayin’ ?

Are u signed 2 Lokee Records now ?

Naw, I’m not exactly signed 2 Lokee. I’m like that muhfucka who’s the friend, that shadow in the dark. U know what I’m sayin’ ? I’m like that muhfucka they call when it’s time 2 get some work done. When it’s time 2 meet with the bosses.

When did u get started doin ya thang ?

Awh man, I been doin’ this shit since I was about 8. Back when Roxanne Shante was doin’ it, I was doin’ it. Back when the Fat Boys and The Skinny Boys was doin’ it, I was doin’ it. Everybody in my family had some form of talent. Whether it was dancin’ or singing, whatever - I was around that.

I’ve heard of u as being compared 2 Tu Pac.

I guess if u had 2 classify my style, I’d put it in a category with Pac’s. As a matter of fact, I’ve been referred 2 as “The Son Of Machivelli.” And for the record, I didn’t start callin’ myself that, the people started callin’ me that. U could probably put me in there with Scarface, DMX, Fifty, and all them other niggas that’s bringing it like that. My sound is like a reincarnation of Pac’s. I’m one of them muhfuckas who gone bring it. I got a problem with muhfuckas who are compared 2 other folks, but can’t bring it like the man they sound like. U can’t be compared 2 Tu Pac and don’t sound like him. Man that nigga could write. So u gotta be able to too. Like this brotha named Krazy from New Orleans. I think he signed 2 No Limit. No disrespect, the brotha’s doin’ what he gotta do, but 2 me this nigga is corny. This nigga is corny. He ain’t sayin’ shit. I hear a lot of these muhfuckas on the radio and they ain’t sayin’ shit. It’s time for these muhfuckas 2 get real about who they claim 2 be, and what they wantin’ muhfuckas 2 hear. Always talkin’ bout I wanna be seen here, or I wanna be on the radio. Man, fuck the radio. U will gain all of that by introducing a brand new twist 2 this shit. If u see a muhfucka walkin’ in the streets and this muhfucka got his shoes on backwards, u gone be like damn !!, this muhfucka got his shoes on backwards. That’s a cold ass style. How in the fuck did he do that ? Does he have false feet or something ? The point that I’m tryin’ 2 stress is, that it’s new. Niggas gone be tryin’ 2 copy it. They gone be like - I need 2 learn how 2 put my fuckin’ shoes on backwards. So it’s always important 2 get in where u fit in, and represent who u be. Fuck speakin’ about. Be about it. If u gone do it, then be true 2 it. And me, I wasn’t turned out this way. I was made this way. Hey, I wanna send some shouts out 2 some influential people. Cause when we get together we sprinkle down like a muhfucka. I’m talkin’ bout Bishop Don Juan, my godfather Mr. Seamore (The World Famous Playa), Ju Ju, Good Game, Atl, Snoop Dogg (cause we kick it), and my niggas from Lo kee. Fuck Prodigy !! I ain’t no little muhfucka no more. I’m wit my niggas from Lo Kee. Some niggas that’ll bust if they have 2. We gone be around, smoke some weed, and be here til the world blow up.

As far as this business is concerned, give me your take on owning the publishing rights 2 your music.

Awh, that’s very important. A lot of artist are quick 2 say they got fucked, or they got dicked, I hear that all the time. I understand it, but, that’s some shit that I simply can’t accept. Now, muhfuckas is out here, and their whole intention is 2 fuck u on a deal. But, the thing is, u never indulge into doin’ any kind of business, unless you’re business inclined, and you’ve got someone who’s licensed to work these kinda avenues. I don’t think a muhfucka should give away his shit just 2 be heard or seen, and meanwhile this muhfucka over here is rollin’ up in a Bentley off yo shit. U broke, and ridin’ a 20 inch bike. Publishing is the most vital, the important part of this music shit. A muhfucka can eat off his publishing for the rest of his life.

U got anything coming out ?

I dropped an album back in 2000 called “Wages Of Sin,” on Selective Records outta Chicago. What’s up 2 Lafayette Shanklin and Dana “Stankin” Johnson. It did pretty good. We sold over 5,000 cds underground. Just hittin’ it city 2 city. That’s not counting retail and the scans we got. I’m gettin’ ready 2 do some shit for Lokee, and my nigga Carletio. It’s called “Til The World Blow Up.” It’s gone be some shit that muhfuckas ain’t ready for.

Are u lookin’ for mainstream acceptance ?

Yeah, any muhfucka that ain’t, is out his fuckin’ mind. But u need 2 capture home base first.

What do u want out of life ?

I wanna own my own Island one day. I’m gone be here til the muhfucking world blows up. Chuuch !!
