I had the pleasure of sitting down with a hot boy who dipped from
the scene, but is back with a flame hotter than ever. Out of jail,
a free agent, and with new management, Turk is ready 2 reclaim
his flame and burn up the scene again.
DG: What’s the business Turk ?
Turk: Whaz up ! Whaz up ! I’m just
chillin’. Gettin’ my ride on.
DG: Now, you’ve been away from the
scene for a minute. What’s been up ?
Turk: I was locked up for 16 months on
a gun charge, but I’m back. I’m 6 albums strong and
ready 2 grind. I’m a free agent right now. I got offers
comin’ out the ass, but I’m lookin’ for the
right one 2 come through.
DG: A lot of animosity has been shown among
the former Hot Boys and Cash Money Records. Do u have any beef
with them ?
Turk: I don’t have any beef. Ya dig
? To each his own. I got some resentment, but I’ve learned
2 forgive. So I ain’t trippin’. As far as Cash Money,
I’m movin’ on 2 bigger and better things. I’m
ready 2 do my own thang now.
DG: People are use 2 hearing u on top
of Mannie Fresh tracks. Will u still look for that sound, or bring
something fresh 2 the table ?
Turk: I still got that young and thuggin’
shit. My dogs Sinista, Ke’noe, AD, KLC, and Don Waun are
lace’n me with the hot shit. Ya know ? I got much love for
Fresh, but it’s time for him 2 move down and let the young
niggas move up.
DG: Any plans 2 release a new album ? Turk:
I’m lookin’ 2 release at the beginning of this year.
The name of the album is “Rehabilitated.” I’m
in the the studio now gettin’ right. DG: Where does Turk
go with his career, now ?
Turk: Man I’m just workin’
2 move up. I let my manager look over everything, and if he says
it ain’t right, I ain’t fuckin’ wit it. Cause
I ain’t fallin’ in nobody’s trap. I’ve
done a collaboration with Ke’noe and I’m ready 2 work
with anyone if they paper straight.
DG: Do u feel it will be hard 2 come back
into the limelight ?
Turk: Naw, cause when I do my concerts,
the word gets around and spreads that he’s home, and he’s
lookin’ good. People wanna hear what I got 2 say. When they
see the promotion, “Turk’s Coming Soon,” they
going 2 be ready for it. They got a bootleg album out now, and
they think it’s mine.....but it ain’t. So I know they
lookin’ for me. When I come out, I’ma lock it down
like a pit.
DG: Anything u want your fans 2 know before
we go ?
Turk: I’m not with Cash Money no
more, but I still got love for them. I’m just doin’
