Every once and a while a group emerges from out of the
depths of the music industry and blows everyone away. We would
like to introduce you to one such group, Juvenile-Wacko-Skip.
This rap trio is about to set off the music industry and take
"no prisoners" with their brand of New Orleans rap on
their debut album "The Beginning of the End." Spear
headed by rap veteran Juvenile (Terius Gray) and including new
comers Wacko (Damon Griffin) and Skip (Doc Nicholas), UTP is ready
to set things straight in the music industry. "We're ready
to battle. We're from the Magnolia projects where it's a battle
just to survive. This rap game is no tougher than that,"
explains Wacko. Juvenile, a rap veteran who has seen as many artist
transformations as anyone else in the game, has transformed himself.
After releasing solo albums and projects with Cash Money Records,
Juvenile has teamed up with J-Prince to form UTP Records. "This
venture is a new way for me to experience the record business
through producing new acts with J-Prince. I'm expanding my career,"
explained Juvenile.
After working with Wacko and Skip on the "Juve The Great"
record, it was natural for them to team up and form UTP. Wacko
explains, "I've been down with Juvey from day one and I'm
here right now." Wacko was in prison when Juvenile took off
and said, "It was hard being inside when you know you should
be part of the game outside." This single father of an eight-year-old
boy is ready for the fight to survive in the music industry. "My
younger brother died at an early age and I know he's up there
looking out for me. I can't
lose.”
Skip, the only member of the group who is not from the Magnolia
projects, but who is from the Holly Grove hood in Louisiana is
no joke himself. "I'm old school. I grew up listening to
Kurtis Blow, Kool Moe Dee and Run DMC. I know this game inside
and out. All I can say is that I'm ready. I'm a quiet fire ready
to explode." Skip explained.
UTP is here and they are ready to be the
new face of rap. As their debut album title states, It's "The
Beginning of the End".
